Johnston County Public Schools (JCPS) held its 2025 Outstanding Secondary Mathematics Teachers (OSMT) Recognition Luncheon honoring outstanding teachers who exhibit teaching excellence by nurturing student enthusiasm for mathematics through everyday classroom experiences.
During the event, 18 JCPS teachers were recognized for their extraordinary teaching during the 2024-2025 school year. Johnston County Early College’s Bill Worley was the recipient of the OSMT award. Worley is a dedicated Pre-Calculus, Math 2, and Math 3 teacher and is passionate about education.
“The dedication of our educators and their commitment to excellence is truly the cornerstone of our district’s academic progress,” said Chief Academic Officer Anna Kuykendal.
Worley will be recognized at the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM) Annual State Conference and featured in the Fall 2025 issue of the NCCTM journal and on the organization’s website.
NCCTM is the professional organization in North Carolina for all persons responsible for the teaching of mathematics.
