Beginners Barn Quilt Painting Workshop

Come join this beginners class and learn how to make a 24’’ by 24’’ painted star barn quilt. Painted barn quilts add a warm personal touch to a barnyard, garage, shed, porch or deck. This class will demonstrate how to make a star barn quilt, fully customizable. There will be plenty of colors to choose from to make your design all your own. The class will be held Saturday, Jan. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Smith’s Nursery, 443 Sanders Rd., Benson. A lunch break will be provided. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch. Hotdogs and ice cream treats will be available for purchase at the farm. The cost is $100. This workshop is appropriate for ages 16 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of the workshop. This workshop will meet rain or shine. This workshop will be held in the big barn. Dress in layers, for the weather. Snacks are welcome. Aprons are not provided. Participants may bring their own if you wish or come prepared to get paint on clothes. Bring a hair dryer to speed up the drying process. Tickets are non-refundable.

She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and has been honing this craft for more than 13 years. She is inspired by trips to the mountains of North Carolina and has even garnered an interest in quilting as well. She is beyond excited and can’t wait to meet participants and teach them this craft.
