Good morning,
My name is Evey Morgan, I am a Wreaths Across America location and group coordinator. I manage 3 locations in the JoCo area, our largest being Selma Memorial Gardens at which almost 700 veterans were honored last year.
Wreaths Across America is a national organization that places wreaths on veterans’ graves to remember their sacrifice, honor their lives and teach the importance of freedom to the next generation. There are over 3,700 locations across the country, overseas, and at sea.
Our group”Wreaths For Uncle” was founded in memory of LtC. Michael Fields served in the US Army Air National Guard for 26 years. After his service, he was diagnosed with stage four cancer, which he battled for four years before passing on May 25th, 2022. When I found out there were no cemeteries in our immediate area participating in Wreaths Across America, I knew I wanted to do something about it, and thus Wreaths for Uncle was born.
Thanks to Stormin’ Norman’s, we are hosting a sponsorship and family night to raise money and thank those who helped us achieve our goal last year. Please join us Monday, August 14th, at 5 pm at Stormin’ Norman’s in Kenly.
