FOUR OAKS — Due to the ongoing downtown Streetscape Project, the Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce will be unable to host this year’s Four Oaks Acorn Festival and Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show in their traditional format.

“We know the Acorn Festival and Car Show are beloved community events, and this was a difficult decision,” said Joan Pritchett, Executive Director. “However, with the downtown construction still underway, it would not be possible to safely and effectively host these events this year.”

In place of the traditional festival, the chamber, in partnership with the Town of Four Oaks, will host Oaks Alive — a new community celebration taking place on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Barbours Grove Park. This special event will offer a full day of family-friendly activities, live music, local vendors, food, and entertainment for all ages. The festivities will kick off at 9 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m.

Visitors can shop from a wide variety of vendors offering fresh produce, handmade goods, local treasures and more. A Children’s Entrepreneur Market will showcase the talents of some young local business owners. Kids will enjoy trackless train rides, sidewalk chalk coloring, games and other activities throughout the day.

Food lovers can indulge in options from popular food trucks and local restaurants, while enjoying live entertainment from local performers on stage.

The event will be followed by Dancing in the Street, a lively dance party from 5 to 8 p.m., bringing the community together under the stars.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we navigate this period of growth in Four Oaks,” Pritchett said. “We look forward to bringing the full Acorn Festival and Car Show experience back next year, bigger and better than ever.”
