Charlotte — FRC Team 6004 f(x) Robotics took their engineering skills to the field at a recent Carolina Panthers game, representing FIRST North Carolina and showcasing a T-shirt launcher they designed and built for pregame action.

At Bank of America Stadium, f(x) Robotics joined FIRST ambassadors on Legends Row to demonstrate STEAM accessibility and introduce fans to the fundamentals of teamwork and engineering. Students highlighted their design and fabrication skills while engaging with the community.

The T-shirt launcher, built entirely in their Selma shop, could store and launch up to three T-shirts. Team colors were incorporated through 3D modeling, printing, and powder coating, drawing attention as the students operated the robot. Partnering with fellow robotics competitors, SPORK Team 3196, they sent T-shirts into the crowd, putting weeks of preparation into action for a live, high-energy demonstration.

The event offered a professional setting for the team to see their designs in action, reinforcing the practical applications of robotics and engineering skills.

Formed in 2015, FRC Team 6004 f(x) Robotics began as a community-based team at Smithfield-Selma High School and is now part of the NC Robotics Initiative in Selma. FIRST is a nonprofit organization that runs global robotics competitions for students from Pre-K through 12th grade, fostering innovation, collaboration, and STEM learning.
