Johnston County’s LaunchJOCO program was recently showcased as an example for other communities during the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) Annual Conference in California.
Representing the county were Dana Wooten, president and CEO of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, Suzanne Ross, regional director of the Johnston Community College Small Business Center and Melissa Overton, owner and president of MedicalTraining.me.
The trio led a session titled “The Power of We: Creating Thriving Waves for Entrepreneurs,” showcasing how local partnerships can strengthen small business ecosystems and drive sustainable growth.
A partnership between the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, Johnston Community College, and community partners, LaunchJOCO provides free training, mentorship and resources to local entrepreneurs.
The successful program has become a model for community-driven economic development, empowering small business owners to grow and give back.
