The 50th Annual Boys & Girls Club/Selma Railroad Days 5K will take place Saturday, Sept. 19, in downtown Selma, marking a milestone for what organizers say is North Carolina’s longest-running 5K race.
Open to runners and walkers of all ages, the event features a flat course and draws participants of all experience levels, as well as well-behaved pets.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Johnston County, helping fund programs that provide local youth with academic support, mentoring and other opportunities.
Organizers said the event has become a longtime community tradition that brings people together while supporting the club’s mission to serve young people across Johnston County.
