Each year the Showcase of Stars brings together students from across Johnston County Public Schools to celebrate the performing and visual arts. Since 1992, the annual event has grown into the district’s largest student showcase, featuring hundreds of performers from elementary through high school in choirs, instrumental and dance groups and other ensembles, alongside displays of student artwork from across the county.
The photos on this spread capture a few moments from this year’s event, held at Johnston Community College, highlighting students sharing their creativity on stage and through visual arts.
“Showcase of Stars brings our community together to celebrate the arts while raising vital funds that allow the Johnston County Education Foundation to support students and teachers through scholarships, classroom grants and innovative educational opportunities,” said Amy Burton, the foundation’s Executive Director.
JCEF supports teachers, students, and schools by providing funding for programs and resources that enrich learning across the district.
