SMITHFIELD — Historic Downtown Smithfield will come alive with the sights, sounds and flavors of the world on Saturday, March 15, during the Celebrate Smithfield: International Culture Fair. This exciting event, held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. invites the community to explore and celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions that have shaped Smithfield into the vibrant and unique town it is today.
The International Culture Fair will showcase the rich heritage of Johnston County residents through art, music, food and education. Visitors can enjoy artful performances on the Amphitheater stage throughout the day, featuring live music and cultural showcases from around the globe.
Visitors are invited to stroll through downtown and follow the flags marking different cultural spots and indulge in ethnic foods prepared by local vendors. Meet talented artisans, participate in interactive activities and shop for unique handmade goods that reflect the world’s creativity and craftsmanship.
“This is an incredible opportunity to come together and celebrate the many cultures that make Smithfield such a special place,” said Heid Gilmond. “We’re thrilled to host this First Annual event and invite everyone to experience the traditions, flavors and stories of our diverse community.”
