I often remind my patients that healing is not only about the adjustment and therapies I utilize to help them. Healing comes when they do their part to care for the temple God has entrusted to them. The “God-breathedness” inside them (Innate Intelligence) orchestrates every cell, tissue, organ, system and function. It doesn’t need help– it needs no interference. My job is to remove the inference and their job is to make wise healthy choices so Innate can orchestrate the healing process.
One of the simplest and most profound healthy choices you can make is to drink pure clean water– because water is life!
Water and the Nervous System
The nervous system is the master control system of the body. Every nerve signal going to and from the brain and the body depends on a well-hydrated environment. Dehydration makes nerve conduction sluggish, similar to a bad cell phone reception. Proper hydration restores a clear signal, helping the brain and body communicate the way the Creator designed.
Protects Joints and Spine
Between every vertebral bone in the spine are discs, which are largely made of water. When you’re dehydrated those discs begin to dry up leaving you vulnerable to stiffness, irritation and eventually degenerative disc disease. Ensuring adequate hydration acts like oil in an engine– reducing friction, protecting delicate tissues, and keeping the body moving smoothly.
Detoxification and Healing
While the chiropractic adjustment frees the body to heal itself by removing interference, the body still needs the right resources to do the healing– like clean water, real food, restful sleep and a safe environment. Water is an essential tool that helps to flush out toxins, to support the kidneys and liver, and to carry nutrients where they’re needed most. Without water, the healing process slows.
Whole Body Energy
When patients tell me they feel fatigued, suffer from headaches, have joint pain or stiffness, one of the first questions I ask is: How much water are you drinking everyday? Energy drinks, coffee or soda (even diet sodas) cannot take the place of pure clean water.
Caffeinated beverages, sugary juices and all sodas are very dehydrating. So to rehydrate, you must drink double the water to counteract the dehydrating effects of the caffeine or sugar, for example: drinking a 12 oz can of soda requires you drink an additional 24 oz of water to rehydrate. If you’re trying to consume 64 oz of water each day and you drink 1 cup of coffee (8 oz), you will need to drink an additional 16 oz of water that day (80 oz total) to stay hydrated. Even mild dehydration creates stress in the body, raising cortisol levels and making you feel worn out.
Ensure you are drinking at least 64oz of water each day to maintain proper hydration.
Water is often a symbol of life, cleansing and renewal. Did you know your body is 60% water? You cannot thrive without it. When you choose to drink water, you are caring for your body in the way the Creator intended– simple, natural and essential.
Practical Tips:
1) The best source of water for proper hydration is remineralized reverse osmosis water. All the impurities and chemicals in city, county and well water are damaging to our bodies– the kidneys especially. Adding a reverse osmosis system with a remineralizing function under your kitchen sink is an affordable and simple way to access unlimited pure clean water for drinking and cooking.
2) Start each day with a full glass of water before reaching for coffee or tea.
3) Carry a 32 oz bottle of water with you to sip on all day, ensuring you drink 2 bottles total until dinner time. Your body will thank you with clearer thinking, smoother movement, and a renewed sense of vitality.
4) Your urine should run clear if you are properly hydrated. If it’s orange, dark or has an odor, you should drink more water.
And remember– Water is life! Now is the perfect time to honor YOUR life by drinking pure clean water!
