For half a century, a jewelry store in downtown Selma has been quietly weaving family stories into treasures that can be worn and cherished.
What began with Kim Wooten’s father more than 50 years ago has grown into a three-generation legacy, now carried forward by Kim and her daughter Logan Boykin. Together, they transform heirloom jewelry into modern designs, preserving the memories embedded in each stone while creating pieces that speak to today’s women.
Every piece begins with a story. A grandmother’s ring, a mother’s necklace, a collection of heirloom stones. For many clients, these are more than jewelry. They are reminders of love, loss, celebration and connection.
One recent project beautifully illustrates this concept: a customer brought in rings passed down from her grandmother. Working one-on-one, Kim and Logan redesigned them into a coordinated ring and earring set, keeping the original stones while giving the design a fresh, contemporary look. The finished pieces were more than jewelry; they were a continuation of a family story, worn into the next generation.
Collaboration is at the heart of Kim and Logan’s work. Clients share the memories behind each piece, explore their personal style, and consider how the jewelry will fit into daily life.
From there, older settings may be taken apart, stones reset or metals repurposed. Every detail is guided by creativity, care and respect for the original legacy. The goal is to preserve sentiment while crafting pieces that are both meaningful and functional.
Repurposing heirloom jewelry has grown in popularity as families look to honor the past while embracing the present. Settings that may feel outdated still hold beauty and value, and thoughtful redesign can transform them into engagement rings, everyday wear or special-occasion pieces that reflect a new generation’s style.
For Kim and Logan, continuing the family business is about more than creating jewelry. It is about preserving memories, celebrating milestones and helping clients carry their stories forward.
